Types of Members explained:
Market Member: Any farmers market operating in the Commonwealth of Virginia that meets the Virginia Department of Agriculture definition of a farmers market. Each member market shall be entitled to one vote on matters pending before a VAFMA annual meeting or at other meetings at which market members are present and voting. Fees for membership in VAFMA shall be assessed annually unless a member market provides written notice to VAFMA that its membership is being terminated.
Vendor Member: A Vendor Member is any farmer, food producer, or artisan selling products at a community farmers market. The Vendor Member shall not be a voting member of VAFMA or a member of the Board unless invited to do so by the Board of VAFMA. The Vendor Member can participate in VAFMA, regardless if their home market is a member or not.
Partner of VAFMA: Any consumer/individual that regularly shops at a farmers market in the Commonwealth of Virginia and that supports the purpose of VAFMA. The Partner Member shall not be a voting member of VAFMA or a member of the Board unless invited to do so by the Board of VAFMA.
Friend of VAFMA : A Friend of VAFMA Member is a person or organization other than a farmers market who supports the mission of VAFMA through a paid membership. The Friend Member shall not be a voting member of VAFMA or a member of the Board unless invited by the Board of VAFMA.
If you don’t feel that any of these options fits right, you are always welcome to Support the Virginia Farmers Market Association through a direct donation.
