Daniel Jordan
Park Manager, High Bridge Trail State Park, Farmville, Virginia
Daniel is not originally from Central Virginia as he grew up in the bustling suburbs of Northern Virginia. He spent the vast amount of his childhood exploring the outdoors and staying muddy. His outdoor career began right before his freshman year of high school in 1994 when he started as a park attendant for Occoquan Regional Park in Lorton, Virginia. Daniel has an Associate’s Degree in Recreation and Parks from Northern Virginia Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management from James Madison University. He has been a Park Ranger for the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority, a Law Enforcement Park Ranger for Alabama State Parks, worked as the Assistant Trading Post Manager at Philmont Scout Ranch, and interned with the Marine Corps Community Service in Okinawa, Japan. He transitioned to Virginia State Parks in 2008, when he accepted the Chief Ranger position at Kiptopeke State Park on the Eastern Shore. While enjoying the salt air, he would be promoted to Assistant Park Manager at Kiptopeke. In 2015, he was promoted to Park Manager of High Bridge Trail. Daniel and Kimberly have been married for sixteen years and have five children ranging from 13yo to 6yo. In his limited spare time, he enjoys backpacking, fermenting, and adventuring with a van full of explorers.
