Sign-On Letter: Urge Governor to sign HB 2302, making farmers markets essential
House Bill 2302, making Virginia’s farmers markets essential during a state of emergency, passed both the House and Senate. The bill now goes to Governor Ralph Northam for approval.
If the Governor signs the bill, “farmers markets will be treated the same as grocery stores if such stores are allowed to remain open as essential businesses during a state of emergency declared by the Governor.”
We are asking all individuals and organizations who support this legislation to sign on to our letter to the Governor by 5:00 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2021.
With your help, we will keep farmers markets serving our communities during future states of emergency.
