A panel discussion with organizations that serve market vendors including BB&T, Certified Naturally Grown, Frontier Kitchen, Slow Money Central Virginia, VA FAIRS, Virginia Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Virginia Farmers Market Association Lisa Dearden of RVAg is moderator
10 am – 11:45 am: Marketing Essentials for Farmers Markets with Paul Cassimus of The King of Pops & The Apple Cart
Covering the groundwork of everything from social media, email newsletters, down to your booth set-up and and presence at the market to best engage and excite your customer base, and more importantly, grow sales!

12 pm – 1 pm: Lunch + Pricing What’s Right for Your Product and How do we build better trainings for our vendors? with Rachel Grosse Henley and Sarah Sharpe of Virginia Cooperative Extension

1 pm – 2 pm: Better Vendor Booth Displays with Dr. Theresa Nartea of Virginia State University
This session will focus on eye appeal, better booth displays and bringing customers into your booth
2 pm – 3 pm: Business Planning for Growing a Small Business, with Rodney Conner of Local Farming Technology
The session will cover business plans, where to get good advice, how education can help, legal structure, licenses, permits, financing, and other key considerations for building your small business on a firm foundation.
