We’re excited to offer you an opportunity to sign up to accept SNAP at the 2024 Mid-Atlantic Farmers Market Conference—no conference registration or attendance required! This is a chance to sign up at our FNS SNAP sign-up booth for free, separate from conference registration.

Please note: This registration does not include conference attendance or meals—it is only for those who want to drop by and complete the SNAP sign-up process at the booth. If you are already registered to attend the conference, you do not need to register separately for the SNAP booth.

SNAP Booth Hours:

  • Thursday, November 14th: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Friday, November 15th: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

You’ll meet with FNS representatives in person to complete your SNAP registration. All you need to do is bring the required documents (outlined below), and they’ll help with the rest! The Virginia Department of Social Services will also be on hand to help you apply for a grant to receive a free SNAP processing machine! In addition, MarketLink will be available if you’re interested in using their application to process SNAP transactions at your market.

What to Bring:

For Sole Proprietors, LLCs, Partnerships, or Privately Held Corporations:

  • Signature Page (provided at the event)
  • Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
  • Social Security card (or other official document with your name and SSN)

For IRS 501c3 Organizations:

  • Signature Page from the Market Manager & Executive Director
  • Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
  • IRS 501c3 Tax Exempt Letter
  • Letter authorizing the Market Manager to apply for the SNAP EBT Permit on behalf of the organization (on official letterhead, signed by the Executive Director)

For Towns, Cities, or Government Agencies:

  • Signature Page from the Market Manager & Government Official
  • Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
  • W-9 signed by the Government Official
  • Letter authorizing the Market Manager to apply for the SNAP EBT Permit on behalf of the town/city/government agency (on official letterhead)

Once You’re Certified: Be sure to stop by the Virginia Fresh Match booth to learn how you can DOUBLE SNAP/EBT dollars at your market! This program is free to join and helps stretch customers’ dollars while bringing in more revenue for your vendors.
