This session will briefly introduce the background of foodborne illness in the United States, including discussing several key foodborne outbreaks linked to farmers markets to provide context for the session. Using the Top Five Factors Responsible for Foodborne illness Outbreaks, we will discuss best practices for farmers market vendors to consider implementing at their market booth to enhance the safety of the foods they have for sale.
